Just a little rubberband

Whoever would have thought just a little rubber band could mean so much to one person. I know the thought never crossed my mind until today, of course. Today is Sunday and I was sleeping so well when the alarm clock went off. At first I looked at it as if I wasn't planning on getting up so early, then it dawned on me, it's Sunday. I have to get up this early to take a shower before the kids wake up, then it's off to the kitchen to fix pancakes. As I'm standing in the shower thoughts of getting them up, feeding them, wrestling them to get them dressed and getting out the door in order to make Sunday school seems like a lot of trouble. "I should feel bad for thinking that" I say to myself then I get out and start getting ready.

Once we get there and everyone has been dropped off in their correct classes I feel a little bit of relief as I make my way to my class. I really enjoy our Sunday school class, our teacher is great and I'm surrounded by people who have the same problems I do. We do a little group activity in which I think a lot about the struggles I face trying to grow as a christian. I have every intention of trying everyday but I mess up by noon most of the time. So class ends and I check on the three little ones before making my way to meet Jordan and Hunter in the auditorium. We head to our seats and the music worship starts, my favorite part. I love hearing singing it's so calming. Then Brother Greg begins his sermon, Extreme Makeover, It's about changing your inside as a christian. "Just what I need" I thought, He drew most of it from Matthew 5:14 ( The light of the world) he talked about having a light inside you from the relationship you have with Christ. It's funny how most people have placed their light under something so people can't see it. That's me and what I've done I know I'm saved and I have a personal relationship with Christ but would a stranger who met me on the street know that? Bro. Greg also used a rubber band as an example of connecting your role to the purpose God has for you. During his invitation Bro. Greg asked anyone who wanted to make a difference for God to Come to the alter and get a rubber band. We're to wear it all week and remember what it stands for. Pray for me this week that I may connect my role to God's purpose.
