Grayson

Today my baby sister and her wonderful husband welcomed their son Grayson into the world. Although he had a little trouble during labor and she had to wind up having a c-section, both momma and baby are doing great.

The House That Love Built

Many of our friends and family know that my parents have been trying to build their dream home for over 20 years. If you know that then you probably know how many obstacles they have had to overcome. If I had to describe our family in one word it would be LARGE. I think that word is perfect for us. Dad and Mom love each other (Large), they have 8 children & so far have 12 Grandchildren so that makes our family (Large), they have been happily married for 35 years so they have spent a (Large) amount of time together. Having that many kids means they spend a (Large) amount of money. With that many in one house they use a (Large) amount of everything from gallons of milk, and tea to rolls and rolls of toilet paper. To keep the house tidy mom has spent a (Large) amount of time doing laundry, cooking, & cleaning. Dad has, and still does spend a (Large) amount of time laying in bed at night worrying about money and how he will provide for his family. When we travel together it takes a (Large) amount of Patience's, time, and will to survive the trips. Dad and Mom have always told us to live and live (Large), from pursuing our dreams to overcoming any obstacles in our way. I think the best thing about our family is how (Large) we do things. We laugh, fight, and love (Large). So with all this talk about how LARGE our family is, their dream house better be Large, right? So here is the second addition to their dream house, by the way, the family has all helped in building. So now the Brumley's build LARGE. This is no doubt the house that LOVE built........... P.S. Dad and Mom, don't look at how far we have to go, just look at how far we've come! -Jennifer-

Summer afternoon trips with the Merrick's

Brian and I love history, and I would say he loves nature (me not so much). On top of that we love taking our children to see lots of different things, especially during their summer break from school. It gets even better if what we go do and see is FREE. This summer we have already been to the Mill at Mill Springs battle field, and Wolfe Creek Damn, which are both only 30-40 minutes from our house. Harrison is at the perfect age to visit these areas, because hopefully he will have some memory of going, but also because he loves history, nature, and learning about new things so much right now. I hope he always keeps such curiosity. Hagan enjoys it too, but he is only 5 so I hope he can remember these special trips we go on. Hagan is very quick witted and some of the things he says are so funny. Haven loves going to new places, jut so she has a variety of stuff to destroy.... I'm sorry if that sounds bad, but it's the truth. Haven is a handful no matter where we are. I love her so much, otherwise I would choke her to death in front of Jesus some days! Ha, ha. Now if you're wondering about Hunter well he has spent the last two weeks away from home. Hunter was at his grandparents in Owen County last week, and he went on his first ever trip with his twin best friends Lincoln and Landon, they went to Myrtle Beach. I missed that boy so much, but he did make it home in time to go to the damn with us. Hunter loves the outdoors, anything he can do like fish or hunt makes his face just lights up. Now I can't forget to mention my wonderful better half, cause he is actually the one that comes up with most of our adventitious ideas. Brian is always trying to find something for us to do with the kids, and I must admit that at times I'm tired and I don't really feel like going and doing anything, but if he didn't push me along I would miss out on soooo much. Thanks Brian I love you!!!!
