Thankful Thursday

Just Thankful!!!!

Wordless Wednesday

Birthday Wish

What an awesome last year!!! I turned 33 on August 30th, and I have to say the last year was a good one. I completed my BSN degree, Brian started a new job closer to home, the family was mostly healthy with only minor cuts and bruises throughout the year. I'm not saying it was a perfect year, but I really don't have anything to complain about. I think I have grown stronger as a child of God, and although I still have a lot of growing to do, I feel closer than I ever have to him. This year I worked on my birthday (something I have done in the past), so there wasn't a party or anything like that, but it was a good day. Brian and the kids got me a new, longer lens for my camera which was an excellent present. On the drive home it dawned on me that I hadn't made a birthday wish yet, now it's not a birthday without the wish. I didn't have to think about my wish this year, it just came right to me. Now for those of you freaking out right now because you believe if you tell your wish it won't come true, don't worry, I don't believe in bad luck, and I'm not superstitious. See I have something bigger, stronger, mightier, and more powerful than those; I have an awesome GOD, and an awesome SAVIOR that knows my name and hears me when I call. So I just called out to them and said "Please let this be the last birthday without her home." Now if you read this and you don't know who I'm referring to then you don't know me as well as you think.

P.S. If anyone has any unused money laying around I will gladly put it to good use!!!

Baby Grayson

On Wednesday my baby sister Crystal was at her breaking point. We spoke on the phone while I was on my way home from a workshop and I could tell by her voice exhaustion had set in. Crystal gave birth to Grayson on July 21, and I don't think she has slept since then. I insisted that she come over to my house for the night so she could get some much needed sleep while I got up with the baby. Now I must say he did wake up 3 times, but he did better then I was expecting. Grayson it such a blessing to our family so getting up with him was no problem at all. However I did go to bed at 8:45 the next night.

Football has Begun

Hunter's football season is officially started. He plays on the freshman and JV team. Hunter was a late football player, I have always had issues with my sons wanting to play football, so when Hunter was asked to join the team at age 8 I reluctantly let him play. He LOVES it. I still worry about him getting injured, but there is a quote from the movie "Finding Nemo" that keeps me from making him sit out. The quote goes "If you stop him from ever doing anything, nothing will ever happen to him" that tells me that by making him sit out not only would he miss getting injured, but he would mainly miss getting to play. Now I don't worry so much about him getting hurt, I worry about him hurting someone else. Brian and the kids got me a new lens for my camera, so I got some really good pics of the game the other night, what a great birthday present.

First Day of School

School is back in session!!! Most of you know by now it's one of my favorite times of the year. This year was harder on me then any other year, I really don't know why. Maybe it's because Hunter is a freshman this year. I look at him and I can't believe what a big boy he is. Or maybe I should say what a big man he is turning into. Hagan also has a big year this year. He starts kindergarten. I thought maybe he would need a little help transitioning this year, but when I got ready to walk him in he looked up at me with those precious blue eyes and said "Mom, I can go by myself" I think my heart broke into. I checked on Harrison after I left Hagan, Harrison is a 3rd grader this year, He looked totally embarrassed to see me at the door. As I turned to leave his doorway it dawned on me just how quickly my children have grown up, and become independent. Haven started her new school this year too, but she is only going part-time. So far we have gotten off to a good start, I just hope we can keep it up.
P.S. I will post the pics at a later date, laptop is feeling under the weather.

No photos

I haven't been able to up load any new photos for two weeks, our laptop has become ill and is currently getting fixed. Our old dinosaur of a computer will not let me upload pics for some strange reason. Here is a quick view of things round here; kids are back in school (Hunter 9th, Harrison 3rd, Hagan K, and Haven is going part time to her new preschool. I'm teaching part time at EKU in the nursing department and working full time at SJH, Brian is still working at the VA in Somerset and is anxiously waiting to here about grad school in the spring. I forgot to mention I have applied for graduate school also for the spring. We are trying to save money and pay off a few extra bills before we proceed with our adoption, But we ARE STILL GOING. The weeks are full of activities; Church, cub scouts, football, soccer, basketball, music lessons, homework, you name it we do it. Sometimes I find it hard to believe how fast the time goes by, I find myself saying "enjoy every minute of it, for it won't be like this for long" more and more. Just when I feel like throwing in the towel and calling it quits, I get a quick glance of what my life would be like without it and I find the encouragement to go on. What else would I do with my time if I wasn't a Mom and Wife??? Sounds pretty boring if you ask me. Well I gotta go I have to take the little one to the dentist. Enjoy your day!!! ~Jennifer~
